Bira members recognised Akzo Nobel's Alistair McAuley as the association's Charitable Champion of the year.
Mr McAuley received his prize from Nigel Hicks of sponsor Towergate Insurance at the bira High Street Conference on 11 May.
The judges said: "Our Charitable Champion 2016 is a man who is currently in his fourth year of fundraising for the chosen charity. In this time he has managed to raise almost one million pounds. Fundraising activity has included cycling across the UK, running the Three Peaks and the 186 mile London Revolution."
Mr McAuley was also presented with £1,000 to donate to a charity of his choice.
The judges were so impressed with all the charitable work that members are doing that they found it difficult to choose a winner in this category. All the worthy charities and causes supported by these members deserve the extra support, and as a result, the judges decided to present three extra Highly Commended awards with £500 each for their worthy causes.
The three additional winners were:
· Eclettico
· Fashion Fabrics
· Lords
