In the lead up to May Bank holiday Amazon.co.uk has seen huge increases in sales of DIY products, such as sledgehammers and plastering tools.
The company reports it has seen a 73% rise in sales of sledgehammers compared to last year.
Sales of welding equipment have also surged by a huge 74%.
Insulation supplies are up 60%, overalls and dust masks 42% and 58%, plastering tools 37%, handsaws 33% and finally chainsaws are up 19%.
Vice president of EU retail at Amazon, Xavier Garambois, said: "Bank holidays have long been associated with DIY but the move from painting and decorating to products for larger scale renovations indicates an intention to make the most of what we've got.
"It seems that homeowners are looking to make savings on home improvements by undertaking the work themselves."
