Richardson (Sheffield) has been purchased by Amefa UK, from the administrators, Ernst & Young for an undisclosed sum.
The deal by the British subsidiary of the Dutch based, privately owned multinational, will see the two companies merge under the Amefa UK umbrella.
Martin Russell managing director of Amefa UK said: "The Richardson portfolio of products is an excellent fit with our existing business, the innovation and design philosophy of Richardson mirrors our own and the synergies brought about by the merger of the two businesses puts us in a strong position."
He said Amefa plans to consult fully with customers to understand how the newly enlarged group can help develop their business.
He went on: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure this deal, safeguarding the Richardson business and keeping alive the Richardson Brand."
Amefa plan to remain in Sheffield merging the two businesses, both of which are located in the City.
Richardson called in administrators Ernst & Young in September –months after securing almost £½m of loans to relocate and expand the business.
