Aphids away
Published: 31 August 2010
The fine, dry weather this summer has created the ideal conditions for aphids (blackflies, greenflies and whiteflies).
Bayer Garden says the company has been fielding an increasing number of calls from consumers who want to treat the pests safely so they can still consume the crop.
The solution, says Bayer, is a contact insecticide such as Sprayday Greenfly Killer, which was previously only available to professional growers. It kills and protects for up to four weeks and crops, such as beans, can be harvested a week after application.
It can be used to treat a range of crops and can also be used to tackle cabbage white caterpillars.
