Argos in hunt for 15,000 Christmas staff

Argos has announced it has begun the search for thousands of extra staff to man its 700-plus branches over the Christmas period.
Through its 'Enjoy a richer Christmas' recruitment campaign the retailer is hoping to find 15,000 temporary members of staff to plug the gaps in its festive rotas.
Generally the positions last until Christmas Eve, but says Argos HR director Andrew Bush, a large proportion of temporary staff are retained long after Christmas, and there are around 1,000 who return each year for the peak Christmas retail period.
The reason for the mass recruitment drive is simple - demand. Argos md Sara Weller said "at our busiest we can experience a threefold increase in the number of customers coming into our stores, so it's vital that we continue to give them exceptional service, especially as it can be a stressful time of year for shoppers."
