Billingshurst-based Austens Home Hardware recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with a huge refit throughout the store.
Improvements included new flooring throughout, moving tills and the counter to create a much larger retail area. The retailer's site has been home to ironmongery businesses for 106 years - and part of the changes were to relocated the shop door to where it originally stood all those years ago.
The re-launch event was supported by Home Hardware and other suppliers, and featured the Dulux dog.
Said Austens co-owner David Wagg: "We feel very much a part of Billingshurst and the community and by investing in our store improvements, we're creating a positive message for the townsfolk."
More details of the Austen's relaunch and its incredible history will be featured in the May 6 - 13 issue of DIY Week.
