Autumn/winter home ranges strong at John Lewis

Overall sales up 15% for department store chain. With home collections and white goods stealing the show.
Home rages led the way for John Lewis last week, reporting an impressive 16% sales increase on last year. The department store's Value range proved popular with customers - particularly with those setting off to or returning to university.
The new autumn/winter catalogue was also received well, with new ranges in lighting up 21% and the gift collection reporting 27% sales growth.
Electrical and home technology also had a good week, up 13%, with white goods stealing the show with a 24% increase.
Overall sales were up 15% for the seven-day period ended September 25, while johnlewis.com delivered a whopping 49% increase.
