Axminster rewards customer service stars

Axminster Tool Centre made a number of awards to staff during this month's National Customer Service Week, which is all about recognising and rewarding excellence.
The Customer Champion award, based on both nominations and the decision of a panel of judges, went to Darren Peach, the company's specialist sales advisor. He was presented with a trophy and a gift card for £50, while runners-up Georgina Burrough, Maddie Edwards, Eileen Palmer, Carly Forino and Kevin King all received a certificate and a bag of sweets.
A second award of Customer Service Support Champion was presented to Joe Stork, web support technician. Call centre staff put forward nominations from staff in other departments for the person who assisted them most in providing customers with a high standard of service. Mr Stork received a £25 gift card and certificate, and runner-up Ben Coath, warehouse team leader, got a certificate and bag of sweets.
Other initiatives took place throughout the week, focusing on leadership and skills and measurement. Members of staff were encouraged to complete a quiz throughout the week with questions based around aspects of customer service. The winning entry came from Eileen Palmer.
