The relocation of B&M's Newport store at East Retail Park has been completed, opening to the public today, Wednesday, 15 November.
The store opening comes as a boost to the local economy with an increase in the number of employees by 60.
Visitors to the store will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range.
As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Royal Gwent Hospital Baby Unit to be their VIP for the day, as well as local Mayor, Cllr David Fouweather.
The nurses on the specialist unit care for Gwent’s most sick babies were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.
Store manager Susan Pumford said: “The nurses from the Royal Gwent Hospital Baby Unit really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.
The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open and show customers their new B&M Newport.”
On Saturday, 18 November, customers will be able to enter the B&M Big Prize Bonanza, a free game show taking place at the store to carry the atmosphere throughout the day. Those who enter will be in with a chance of winning prizes including a slow cooker, B&M vouchers and Cadbury’s chocolates.
