Euan Sutherland and Sir Richard Branson give a helping hand to insulate a Londoner's loft in support of Prince of Wales' new Start initiative.
Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and ceo of Kingfisher UK and B&Q Euan Sutherland joined forces with the Prince of Wales' new Start initiative and yesterday offered a helping hand to insulating lucky Londoners, Alexandra Ross and Ronnie Hedges' home.
According to B&Q, the partnership aims to show the British public how financially beneficial the simple DIY job can be. Figures show that insulating the loft could save homeowners around £150 per year on their annual energy bill and can be done as a DIY job in a day.
Euan Sutherland ceo of B&Q and Kingfisher UK said: "Start at the top and fit insulation in your loft - it's the single most effective thing people can do to green up their homes and save money."
The Prince of Wales' new Start initiative has been created to help people in the UK better understand the simple and effective things they can do to build a more sustainable future. More unique collaborations, events, incentives and projects are expected over the course of the year.
Sir Richard Branson commented: "Start is a fantastic initiative. It will help give people practical ideas on how to lead greener and more sustainable lives. Making a difference doesn't have to be about grand gestures; if people start to do these little things in their everyday lives it will have a big impact. It should save money as well as help preserve our planet."
