B&Q UK & Ireland ceo Martyn Phillips has announced two appointments to the B&Q board.
Damian McGloughlin leaves his current role as director of store operations to become operations director, concentrating on driving core sales, customer experience and employee engagement.
Mr McGloughlin has been with B&Q for 23 years, after beginning his career on the shop floor as a Saturday employee.
Ian Herrett has been promoted to the new role of business development director, with responsibility for three distinct areas of the business: TradePoint, showroom (comprising the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom business units) and CSR.
TradePoint falls within Mr Herrett's current role as trade director, and he will continue to grow the trade-only business in his new position, as well as driving forward B&Q's green credentials.
Mr Phillips said: "It is a testament to the talented individuals we have within B&Q that we have been able to find internal candidates to fill these important, strategic roles. Having worked their way up from the shop floor to the board, both Damian and Ian bring with them a breadth of experience and understanding of the business. I look forward to working with them in their new roles and wish them every success."
