B&Q closes to become an Aldi supermarket

The B&Q store in Ore has closed and will be knocked down to make way for multi-million pound supermarket chain Aldi.

According to a report in the Hastings Observer construction of the £5m Aldi store will begin next month and it is expected the supermarket will open in November.

More than 40 people were employed at the B&Q store in Rye Road, but the new Aldi store is expected to create between 30 and 40 jobs.

B&Q had been on the site for more than 35 years.
