'Ask the Designer' app on B&Q's Facebook page gives homeowners the chance to have designs for their dream bathroom developed into tailored sketches, as well as the chance to win money towards the makeover.

Homeowners simply submit pictures of their bathroom and include details of what they would like to achieve. B&Q's bathroom team will then select the most challenging spaces in need of a makeover and come up with a design that fits the brief. The app also offers customers the chance to win £2,500 to spend on a new bathroom at B&Q.

All of the makeover challenges that have been submitted are also available to view on B&Q's Facebook page, where users can comment, offering their advice, opinion and tips.

B&Q Direct director Dave Elliott said: "Taking that first step is often the hardest part of DIY, and our innovative new Facebook app makes it easier for homeowners to get specially tailored, expert help, online. What ever the space or budget our designers can help provide simple solutions to even the most challenging projects."

From August, the app will also be available to those customers in need of a kitchen makeover.
