B&Q has revealed its price check figures for the first time as it launched its new Decorate for Less campaign today.
The retailer has price checked 1,748 decorating products against its nearest competitors and says it is cheaper on 1,568 products - equating to 90%.
The prices have been independently checked by a third party as part of the new B&Q campaign, which will be backed by advertising from today.
Revealing their price comparisons against Homebase, B&Q has said that a 10l tin of Dulux White Standard Emulsion Matt costs £15.48 at their stores, a saving of 35% against the Homebase price of £23.99.
Consumers can save 21% on Ronseal Diamond Hard Clear Varnish (750ml), priced £14.98, and 20% on Solvite All Purpose Wallpaper Adhesive (15 rolls) priced £3.58.
Superfresco Snow Kite Wall covering in black (10m) costs £11.98, a saving of 20% against Homebase, and Graham & Brown Drama Midsummer Wall covering in pink (10m) is priced at £16.98, a saving of 15%.
The Dulux Paint Pod machine costs £49.98 at B&Q, a saving of 16%, with Crown Standard Emulsion Matt (2.5l) in Magnolia priced at £13.98, a saving of 12%.
Henkel Super Bathroom Sealant (275g in white) is priced £7.48, with a saving of 14%, and Polycell Multi Purpose Magic Fill (600g) costs £4.98, a saving of 13%.
Consumers can save 11% on Nitromors All Strip Mousse Paint & Varnish Remover (400ml), which costs £7.48, compared to the Homebase price of £8.48, says B&Q.
B&Q's marketing director Warren Scarr said: "At a time when our customers are springing into action to start their new DIY projects, yet budgets are still tight, we want them to know that our price promise packs a punch and they really can decorate for less at B&Q."
