B&Q recalls child-risk blinds
Published: 17 October 2013
B&Q has put out a product recall on several of its blinds because they pose a risk to children.
The company says the break-cord safety device on some of the products may not operate correctly. This device is particularly important where young children have access to the blind as it is designed to break the cord if it is pulled too hard. This would prevent any child who had accidentally become entangled in the cord from being harmed.
The products affected are Bamboo natural/chocolate, Colours Zanni bamboo natural and Toba bamboo chocolate roll-up slat blinds sold from October 2010 until October 2013, and Mallee and Drupe roman blinds sold from April 2012 until October 2013.
The rest of B&Q's blinds are unaffected.
Customers who purchased any of these products between the above dates are asked to stop using them immediately and contact the helpline 0800 389 0419 or return them to a store for a refund.
