B&Q slashes the price of Christmas trees as the big day approaches

B&Q has cut the prices of its real Christmas trees – some to as low as 10p – as the countdown to Christmas Day narrows.
Trees such as a 6ft Nordic spruce would usually cost around £35 at the store, but bargain hunting shoppers are reporting huge discounts, with trees in Bristol down to £1 and some just 10p in Cornwall. A 7ft tree has been found priced at £10 in Chester, with smaller sizes at £5. A customer of Wandsworth B&Q has reported a tree at £2.50, meanwhile.
One shopper in Bournemouth topped the list, however, having found a tree being given away for free.
The discounts have been reported on website HotUKDeals, with one commentator saying, “I got myself a really nice tree for 10p. I was expecting to find just a few scraggy trees left but there was a really good selection.”
A B&Q spokesperson said, “B&Q would like to see every Christmas tree find a loving home. As we've got closer to the big day, a small number of real trees have been offered for amazingly discounted prices, some as little as 10p.”
