B&Q trials energy efficiency advice centre in-store

Home improvement giant B&Q is trialling an energy efficiency centre in its Manchester store.
The trial, which began this week at B&Qs Trafford Park outlet, gives customers advice on the latest products and services to help them save both energy and money.
The energy shop is a partnership with British Gas and B&Q, owned by Kingfisher, which will be manned by staff from both firms.
B&Q plans to monitor the use of the new centre and should it be successful will open others at their larger stores around the country.
At the centre people will be able to get advice on anything from choosing the best insulation to creating an entire personalised plan for reducing energy use in their home.
Kingfisher ceo Euan Sutherland and British Gas md Phil Bentley opened the centre last Wednesday January 7.
Mr Sutherland said: "B&Q is making it easy and affordable to create a more sustainable home, offering a huge range of environmentally friendly products, with everything from recycled plastic insulation to solar panels.
"In our Trafford store, customers will also have the benefit of British Gas' expertise - a great service for people who want to make their homes more energy efficient but are not quite sure where to start."
