B&Q has asked diyweek.net to clarify its position on payment of the new National Living Wage (NLW).
In a statement it said: "In February this year, we announced that from 1 April 2016 our minimum rate would be £7.66 per hour which is 46p more than the National Living Wage of £7.20 per hour. This is our minimum rate for all employees, regardless of age, not just those 25 years and over who are covered by the National Living Wage.
"B&Q is committed to being a good payer and our overall package is one of the best in retail, with benefits that include a performance bonus, market-leading pension scheme with up to 14% employer contribution, a ShareSave scheme and five weeks holiday a year."
