Managing director of HMG Paints, Mr Falder, has been appointed as the new president of the British Coatings Federation (BCF).
UK industrial paints manufacturer HMG has a long history of supporting the Federation, with John's brother Stephen previously holding the role of president in 1999 and 2000.
Mr Falder is currently chairman of BCF's Industrial Coatings Council and was formerly chair of the Vehicle Refinish Group.
BCF ceo Tom Bowtell said: "I am delighted to have John bring his passion and enthusiasm to his role as president, which I'm sure will help the Federation's cause in the coming years."
Mr Falder added: "I am honoured to take on this prestigious role and I am looking forward to representing the industry and to making a difference."
