The owner of a Greater Manchester garden centre feared for the safety of customers when it was targeted by a giant swarm of bees last week.
Deborah Berry, the owner of Gardening World, near Bolton, told The Bolton News that when the bees turned up she asked customers to leave, anxious that they might get stung.
The swarm was believed to contain some 10,000 honey bees, which, said The Bolton News, spent 15 minutes flying around the garden centre before settling on a wooden pergola.
Ms Berry said: "I was inside when I saw all the bees flying over a fence into the garden centre. I couldn't believe what was happening."
She added that she had no idea where they had come from or why they had picked on her garden centre. The bees eventually flew away.
