Bents announces new management structure

Following its embarkation on a
£10m development programme earlier this year, a new management structure at Bents Garden & Home has been launched, opening up a brand new senior position of general manager alongside additional roles.
It comes during a brief remit between the first phase of construction at the Cheshire-based centre, now nearing completion, and the second, due to commence in 2013. The opening for a new general manager, who will report directly to managing director Matthew Bent, will help Mr Bent progress his own role to a more strategic level.
"Although he is no longer involved with the day to day running of the business, my father has continued to be very active at a strategic level," said Matthew Bent. "But as Ron focuses more on retirement, I will be looking to take on these areas of responsibility, working on the overall development of the business, which means we need a strong General Manager who can strengthen our team.
"We hope we can find someone who will embrace the vision we have for Bents and help ensure our core values continue to define the day to day running of the business."
In 2011 Bents launched its new vision, 'Bents, The Future' to encompass its extensive building works as well as its ambition to be 'the best in everything it does' and the North West's ultimate garden, home and leisure destination. The development plan aims to create a larger contemporary retail space with a two storey-high glazed atrium and escalators leading up to 3,800m sq of retail, leisure and educational space.
