Bents Garden & Home staff get naked for charity calendar shoot.
Inspired by the success of the now famous Calendar Girls, the ladies of Culcheth, led by Chrissy McAreavey, set out to create a calendar in aid of St Rocco's Hospice, featuring local business owners. The only twist was that they were all to appear nude!
The ladies approached Bents to be the subject of the front cover and, as the picture shows, 23 willing members of staff whipped off their clothes to oblige.
The inspiration behind the project was Sally Czerwinka, who died in December last year at St Rocco's Hospice, after a long fight against cancer (hence the placards spelling Culcheth gets naked for Sal). Before she died she embarked on a number of fundraising events for the hospice, one being a calendar for 2010, which three of her friends took on after her death.
"We thought it was going to be impossible to get enough colleagues to take part," said Bents md Matthew Bent, "but it was amazing how quickly they volunteered! The calendar is a great idea and we are proud to be involved with such a fantastic, locally-inspired project and we will be selling copies of the calendar ourselves."
The calendar will retail at £7.99 at businesses throughout Culcheth.
