Best Buy's ceo for branded operations Paul Antoniadis has left the company less than three months after the opening of its
first UK store.
Mr Antoniadis has left the US electricals giant "to continue his passion for international start-ups and new business ventures", according to a statement from the company. Best Buy ceo Scott Wheway said: "We are grateful to Paul for his outstanding contributions not only to Best Buy Europe but also the Best Buy business, particularly in China and Mexico and we wish him every success in the future."
The retailer has opened three stores in the UK so far, with plans for five more already announced.
Best Buy has also announced the appointment of Andrew Harrison as chief operating officer for Best Buy Europe. Reporting to Mr Wheway, Mr Harrison, who is ceo of The Carphone Warehouse, will now also be responsible for driving Best Buy Europe's 'Connected World' strategy and customer proposition across all Best Buy Europe's brands.
Mr Wheway said: "Andrew has been instrumental in driving The Carphone Warehouse over the last 15 years and is a leading authority in connectivity technology. He has consistently proven himself ahead of the curve in anticipating the needs of technology-hungry customers and shaping the resulting retail propositions.
"This organisational change ensures that the talent we have across the business is aligned to deliver a common approach across our multiple brands."
