Will Jones will take up the new role in September, replacing Helen Hibbert who held the position in the interim, following Pam Plant's departure.
Mr Jones, previously sales director at Addis Housewares Ltd, has been appointed as housewares sector director for the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA). He will take up his new role at the beginning of September.
Will has been welcomed to the association by John Newcomb, BHETA board member and Housewares Sector chairman, who said:
"Will has a tremendous amount of housewares industry experience under his belt from his time at Addis, which will be invaluable for members to call upon. He is a well-known and well-respected figure in the industry and we are delighted he is going to be part of the BHETA team."
Former BHETA housewares director Pam Plant resigned from the position in May this year amid ongoing plans for the organisation's controversial merger with the British Jewellery Gift and Finishing Federation (BJGF). She has since joined Spring and Autumn Fair International.
Mr Jones was at Addis for 14 years, starting as a national account manager and working his way up through various sales, marketing and new business development roles to become sales director in 2006.
Prior to that he worked in sales roles for Coleman UK plc, the US manufacturer of leisure and camping products such as Camping Gaz, Charles Letts and Co, the UK manufacturer of diaries and stationery and adhesive company Loctite UK.
Mr Jones said of his new role: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work with BHETA as the association moves forward in these challenging and exciting times. It's a great opportunity for me to share my commercial experience and knowledge of the market place with members and help them achieve their key business objectives."
Helen Hibbert, who is currently acting as an interim housewares sector director role for the association, will be retained until the end of September.
