In a conversation with DIY Week this morning BHETA president Andrew Weiss confirmed Helen Hibbert's appointment as interim housewares director.
Mr Weiss confirmed that Ms Hibbert would be taking up the post that has been vacant since Pam Plant's resignation. But stressed that the appointment was "interim in capital letters" and that the recruitment process for a permanent replacement for Pam continued. In fact, he said, the association expects to be in the final interview stages in the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, said Mr Weiss, she would be 'helping out' through key trade exhibitions such as Autumn Fair as she has experience of both how Brooke House works and exhibiting at international trade exhibitions. He described the appointment as "an ideal opportunity to use that experience to offer members support for those exhibitions".
Hibbert resigned from the BHETA Board last week and has also resigned her role at CAT Enterprises.
