BHETA secures Chicago grants for exporters
Published: 9 October 2019
BHETA has secured several exhibitor grants from the Department for International Trade which can help towards the cost of exhibiting at the IHA Chicago show in March 2020 – to the tune of £2000 per applicant.
With more than 2,100 exhibitors and 62,000 of the world's most important professionals gathering to do business, IHA is potentially a very worthwhile opportunity for both newcomers and old hands keen to offset costs. Grants will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so application forms need to be completed and submitted to Nicola Adams-Brown via nab@bheta.co.uk.
There are some rules and regulations regarding eligibility for the grant scheme so it is imperative that BHETA members thinking of applying read the terms and conditions. Examples include the fact that applicants must have fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover not exceeding €50m or an annual balance sheet not totalling €43m. Participants must own the brand they are selling and have permission to export to the market concerned.
Commenting on the latest BHETA grant availability Will Jones, BHETA’s Chief Operations Officer who chairs the BHETA export committee, said: “This is a great endorsement for the importance of export for today’s supplier members.
It’s just one of several forms of diversification we are promoting, but it’s one with huge potential. Export can seem daunting for companies not already involved, but BHETA is now offering some really practical support as well as the in-depth experience of existing members who are willing to share knowledge and best practice.”
