BHETA sets up John Lewis Meet the Buyer Day
Published: 4 October 2012
The next Meet the Buyer Day organised by the British Home Enhancement Trade Association will allow members of the organisation to go head-to-head with buyers from John Lewis.
The event follows on from similar initiatives with Homebase and Robert Dyas, which were both sell-out attractions and where a number of BHETA members secured new business.
The Meet the Buyer initiative provides a unique opportunity for DIY suppliers to interact with a major retailer outside of the usual buying channels. It is exclusively open to BHETA members on application and is dedicated to finding mutually beneficial trading opportunities.
BHETA housewares executive director Will Jones said: "John Lewis is probably one of the most well-known and respected department store retailers in the UK, with a loyal customer base and is recognised for choice, style, quality and excellent customer service across the wider home enhancement market.
"For such a significant industry player to work like this with the industry trade association is both progressive and exciting. It demonstrates that in spite of disappointing news in some areas of the market, there are organisations forging ahead with new ideas designed to provide suppliers and retailers with new, cooperative inspiration."
The John Lewis event will be held on November 15 and is taking place adjacent to the John Lewis head office in London.
The John Lewis Partnership operates 36 John Lewis shops across the UK, including 29 department stores, seven John Lewis At Home stores, as well as JohnLewis.com.
