The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) will be sponsoring an exciting programme of content at this year's Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical Shows, all dedicated to unveiling the latest consumer trends information to retailers, suppliers and the media.
The particular focus will be on Christmas 2016 and the spring / summer season for 2017.
Working with trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, the BHETA-sponsored programme will comprise a new On Trend display area as well as Trend Tours around the show conducted by the Scarlet Opus team.
The On Trend display area will include a Christmas window display to give retailers ideas on how to translate forecast trends such as Heathland and Native into practical merchandising. The Trend Tours will be based around ranges and products submitted by exhibitors and assessed by Scarlet Opus. Selected products will also be included in the Trend Display area, identified on stand and flagged up in the show preview, show catalogue and show signage.
BHETA's sector director of housewares, Will Jones explained: "This is a very exciting opportunity for suppliers, retailers and opinion formers in the media. After all, with consumer trends now global and influencing everyone with an interest in home interiors, the trails and seminars will be a fantastic chance to understand trends evolving from season to season.
"This will be a not to be missed insight for designers, manufacturers, importers, distributors, retail buyers and all those key consumer influencers in the media."
Exclusively Housewares and its sister show Exclusively Electrical have already established a reputation for predicting commercial opportunities with Scarlet Opus last year identifying the Brazil Olympics as a 2016 trend, now evidenced by the Latin-themed cookbooks and bright, tropical colours already appearing in store.
The two shows will also include free trend seminars and briefings from leading market research company GfK, John Ryan, stores editor for Retail Week and Phil Pond of Scarlet Opus who will be available to consult during the rest of the show.
