BHETA warns of new fraud operation

Published: 24 April 2014
After one if its members was defrauded of more than £2,000, the British Home Enhancement Trade Association has called on suppliers to be extra vigilant about invoicing queries.
The unnamed BHETA member was contacted by a company who identified themselves as Baker Trading Ltd and was duped into re-paying a pro-forma invoice that had never been paid in the first place. The loss to the company was in excess of £2,000.

As a result, BHETA wants to make firms aware of the scam and is urging them to be on their guard.
