The BHF Group presented its annual awards at the DIY Show - and announced a change of name.
It has renamed the Hardware and Garden Retail Association, the British Hardware Federation.

Alan Hawkins, managing director of the BHF Group, said the decision was taken to avoid confusion among its members.

Five members were presented with awards by Mr Hawkins and chairman of the British Hardware Federation, Russell Johnson.

The 2008 winners are:

Retailer of the Year - Barnitts of York;

Best Packaging - Harris Brushes;

Best Product of the Year - Avit range of power tools;

Most Innovative Product - Black & Decker Auto Wrench;

Best Member of Staff - Rose Cubbage, Isaac Lord.
