Duff & Phelps, the BHS administrators, have sold 70 overseas BHS stores and its online business to Qatari buyer Al Mana Group.
The Dubai-based group already runs some of BHS' international stores under a franchise arrangement, and has reportedly struck a deal for an unknown amount to take full control of these stores, as well as BHS' website. It's likely to be good news for up to 150 employees who are linked to website operations in the UK, though the fate of the 11,000 staff employed across the retailer's 164 UK stores remains uncertain.
MPs are still probing the circumstances of BHS' administration, with former owner Sir Philip Green still under scrutiny for selling the business to bankrupt Dominic Chappell. The Pension Protection Fund back the appointment of second administrator FRP Advisory last week to help with investigations into the activities of past directors at BHS.
