Big names show support for DIY Week Awards
Published: 22 October 2014
A host of leading industry names have lined up to sponsor the 2015 DIY Week Awards and help create another winning industry event, which will once again raise funds for DIY Week's charity partner the Rainy Day Trust.
Long-time sponsors of DIY Week's awards events over the years, leading security brand Sterling Locks, member-owned buying group Home Hardware Southwest, Essex wholesaler Sam's Trade Centre and Britain's biggest non-food cash and carry wholesale trade supplier Stax Trade Centres have all come back on board this year and pledged their support to the black-tie evening, which honours the DIY and garden industry's outstanding retailers and most innovative products.
Sterling's Rex Atkins said of the major brand's decision to extend its involvement with the awards: "Sterling Locks has been a committed supporter of the DIY Week Awards for many years and is delighted to continue that association by sponsoring next year's awards. As well as being an enjoyable evening, the awards also play an important part in continuing to support the fantastic charity work of the Rainy Day Trust."
Home Hardware's Martin Elliott added: "Home Hardware is again very pleased to support the DIY Week Awards to acknowledge new product development and innovation amongst suppliers, which is very important for the industry. We are also delighted to be associated with the various retail award categories, which recognise outstanding achievement."
Also back on board this year are adhesive and sealants giant Henkel, and The Totally DIY and Totally Tools shows, which the awards event is located alongside at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
Henkel's Mark Portman commented: "Henkel is delighted to again be sponsoring the DIY Week Awards. One of the most exciting events in the DIY calendar, the awards recognises the impressive work that is done across the industry from the fantastic retailers and suppliers continuing to bring innovation."
Leading UK trade associations have also shown their support. The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), British Hardware Federation - a division of the British Independent Retailers Association (BIRA), and the Garden Industry Manufacturers Association (GIMA) are all sponsoring the 2015 event.
Our distinguished panels of judges will meet soon, and a shortlist of Silver winners will be announced after judging has taken place, with the Gold winners in each category revealed at the glittering awards event on Monday, February 16.
