Bolton Homebase to close
Published: 8 October 2013
The Homebase store in Bolton town centre is to close at the end of next week.
The store opened on Manchester Road in December 1988 and it employs 30 people in full and part-time positions. But the 36,500sq ft store will close on October 19.
Spokesman Adam Manning told diyweek.net: "The store will trade as normal until its closure date on 19 October and after this date stock will then be removed from store. We are currently identifying alternative working opportunities for colleagues affected by the closure, so it's not possible to say how many jobs will be lost."
The Homebase store at Middlebrook Retail Park in Horwich will stay open and will not be affected.
It has been reported that this closure follows the exit of several big retailers from Bolton town centre, including HMV, Burton and Topman.
