Bosch and Royal Doulton named Superbrands
Published: 12 August 2008
Electrical appliance manufacturer Bosch and tableware company Royal Doulton have been featured in top ten of the UK's favourite brands.
The 2008/09 Superbrands roster, compiled by The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA), reflects the views of 2,200 members of the British public and is used to determine the strength and reputation of all brands operating in the UK.
Just eight British companies feature in a top 20 list of 'superbrands', with Royal Doulton making the top ten in at sixth position and Bosch at number eight.
Commenting on the dwindling number of British brands on the 500-strong list, TCBA chief executive Stephen Cheliotis said: "We don't really have that many strong brands in the UK.
"A lot of our strongest brands have been sold off...we don't invest in brands like China and India do. They are putting a lot of money into building strong brands, and that will give them economic power in the future."
