Bosch Lawn & Garden takes the market lead

After just a decade and a half in the UK market, Bosch Lawn & Garden has seized leadership within the garden power categories, according to new industry analysis.
Latest GfK figures show that Bosch has become the leading brand in both the Total Garden Power and Total Electric Garden Power sectors.
The company now holds a 26% value share of Total Garden Power, up 7% in 2012 on the year before. In Total Electric Garden Power, Bosch outperformed the market to achieve 34% of total sales value, an increase of 8% on 2011, putting the company firmly in the driving seat.
During 2012, Bosch also maintained its position as the leading brand for electric and cordless rotary lawnmowers, by both sales volume and value, and shredders, by value, aiding the brand's rise to the top.
Joao Barufi, regional brand manager for UK and Ireland at Bosch Lawn & Garden, commented: "Since coming to the UK market 15 years ago we've worked hard to establish ourselves, and with a positive approach and the right product mix, Bosch has quickly excelled to make itself the market leader.
"This has been a massive effort by the whole of the Lawn & Garden team, which was aided by our constant innovation and understanding of consumer needs."
The Total Garden Power market includes hand lawnmowers and powered lawnmowers, chainsaws, grass shears, scarifiers, hedge trimmers, shredders, blow vacuums and grass trimmers. The Total Electric Garden Power includes the same group of tools, but only electric models.
