The opening of the 121st Brewers trade outlet gives the company a foothold in the West Midlands, with further new branch activity anticipated in the area.

The branch is located in purpose-planned premises on the Nechells Industrial Estate.

Stephanie Rees, formerly a diy manager with Homebase, will be manager.

Sales representative for Birmingham is Peter McKernan who joined Brewers from Akzo Nobel where he was contractor sales manager.

Brewers' commercial manager Stan Adams said: "This is only the beginning of our expansion plans in this area and I anticipate announcing further significant steps in the near future."
