British Ceramic Tile sells Trade Warehouses

Published: 24 June 2011
British Ceramic Tile (BCT) has announced the sale of its four Trade Warehouses to online tile retailer TileClick for an undisclosed sum.
The warehouses in Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester and Cardiff, currently trade under the British Ceramic Tile Trade Warehouse fascia.

A sale of the format was originally agreed in June last year with Walls & Floors Kettering. However, a company spokesperson told DIY Week: "Unfortunately the transaction with Walls & Floors was not completed. Walls & Floors had to withdraw from the sale late in the process due to internal reasons at that company."

The new deal takes TileClick into physical stores for the first time, having previously only ever traded online.

TileClick head of business development Jeremy Turner said: "We are very excited about making the move into the bricks & mortar store market... which will bring new opportunities including more products and more brands.
