The British Hardware Federation's award winners for 2009 were announced at the Totally shows in London.
The BHF's retailer of the year is Hensons Hardware in Manchester.
The firm has been in business for the last thirty years, although Hensons Hardware has been in existence for more than sixty years, retailing hardware, ironmongery and housewares.
BHF chairman, Sadie Chalkley, said of the winner: "Their shop is presented to a high level and the layout is user friendly and their loyal customer base, both retail and trade, are happy with the service and product ranges that are available."
The supplier of the year award went to Silverline Tools who also won the title in 2006.
The firm has continued to prove their value to BHF members and is, according to the federation, probably the fastest growing supplier of top quality hand and power tools to wholesalers, merchants and retailers in the UK.
The best supplier new product of the year was won by the Viking 17" Roller Mower (Model MB 545 VR) produced by Andreas Stihl.
The best innovation for 2009 was won by the Polycell Less Mess Paint Stripper.
