Recent survey reveals British gardening habits, with people in Bristol investing more money in their gardens and Gloucester residents more likely to get frisky in the back yard.
The poll of 3,000 people, carried out by
vouchercodes.co.uk, revealed that the average Brit spends £102.30 on their garden each year. Bristolians spend the most at £149.80, while Aberdeen residents spend the least at £59.05.
With the Bank Holiday weekend here and summer fast approaching, the survey also found that greenfingered Brits plans to make the most of their outdoor space this season, with 22% planning to spend more than two hours a week working on the garden.
Listing the most strenuous garden chores, 46% of those surveyed said weeding and 33% said cutting the grass. This may explain why a number of Brits admit to enjoying another pastime in the garden - with 8% of people confessing to having sex in their back garden.
Residents in Gloucester are the most likely to get frisky, with 28% of those surveyed admitting to getting it on in the garden, while Belfast was a close second, with 20% admitting to back yard acrobatics.
It doesn't stop there - 15% of the men surveyed admitted to spying on their neighbours sunbathing in their underwear and a further 7% confessed to taking a sneak peak whilst their neighbours were sunbathing naked. The survey also revealed that an alarming 6% of men reported to have watched while their neighbours had sex in the garden.
Vouchercodes.co.uk founder Duncan Jennings said: "With a hot summer ahead of use, no matter what you get up to in your garden, it has never been a better time to invest in your garden to make the most of the sunshine."
