Bulldog buys Caldwells' assets

Published: 8 October 2009
Wigan-based spade and fork manufacturer Rollins Bulldog Tools has purchased the assets of Caldwells Manufacturing, which entered administration in June 2009.
Assets include stock and machinery, which will be integrated in Bulldog's Wigan factory.

Rollins group md Andy White said: "We see this as a real opportunity for Bulldog to bring something good out of this sad situation. As the last forge still manufacturing solid forged spades and forks in the UK we were obviously disappointed to see another company in our trade go out of business. We intend to use much of the equipment in our own Wigan plant to help increase our capacity and improve some of our procedures."
