Just three miles from the original Griffiths Way Bunnings store in St Albans, which opened earlier this month, work is currently underway at the Hatfield Road Homebase store, which closed on February 12. The store is expected to re-open under the Bunnings Warehouse branding in April.

Meanwhile, Apsley Mills Retail Park, Hemel Hempstead, has been revealed as the third pilot Bunnings store location, with dates for closure and re-opening not yet confirmed.

The fourth store will be the Snowdon Drive Homebase in Milton Keynes. This large store is reportedly a more similar size to the traditional Bunnings stores in Australia and New Zealand.

Although dates are not yet known for the third and fourth outlets, Wesfarmers has confirmed that the store developments have been carefully planned to capitalise on the important summer 2017 trading period.

I am a loyal customer to Homebase Sevenoaks and i am watching the store sink since you have taken it over. The garden section has never been so bad due to too many plants being delivered and dying. Jenny who has worked there for many years had always kept it in excellent condition but on her on its an impossible task. She use to reduce the dying plants to 50p-£2.00 to find them a home and now i hear they are thrown away when they have a chance of survival. Its better to get something than nothing.I have been in retail all my life and i was informed by my family who live in Australia & new Zealand how excellent your company is so you can understand my concern to see a store who have wonderful helpful staff who use to work as a team are now set in their own section.

I look forward to hearing your comments on this.

With kind regards Barbara New
