Cargo calls time on garden centre concessions

Published: 4 May 2010
Home products retail chain Cargo has announced its withdrawal from garden centre concessions after trials failed to live up to expectations.
Cargo calls time on garden centre concessions
It's Solihull store, located in Blooms garden centre and which opened last year, will operate a closing down sale until the end of June when it will close for good. It currently employs six people.

Cargo md Clive Gilbert said of the decision: "we are extremely disappointed to be closing our Solihull store as we had high hopes for its success. We have trialled concessions in garden centres for over a year and unfortunately they have not met our expectations. The team have worked tremendously hard to make a success of the venture and we are now working with them to try and secure alternative employment within our group."
