Hand tools and security supplier Carl Kammerling International is supporting Team UK in the WorldSkills competition 2015 in São Paulo.
The company is sponsoring Adrian Canning, a former apprentice at North West Regional College in Northern Ireland, who now runs his own business, AC Electrical.
Mr Canning, 22, is benefiting from the company's CK Bright Sparks programme, which helps promote vocational education programmes as an attractive option and a viable career path.
He trained as an electrician at North West Regional College, which benefits from the programme. Showing great potential and growth over the course of his training, he was selected to compete for a place in squad and Team UK in the WorldSkills UK Skills competition - the largest vocational, education and skills excellence event in the world.
The competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from over 60 countries and regions that are members of WorldSkills. As part of Team UK, Mr Canning and his 40 teammates - all aged between 18 and 25 - will demonstrate technical abilities.
Carl Kammerling's CK tool brand is providing all the tools required for Mr Canning to participate in the electrical installation section of the competition, which will take place in August.
Since 2003, Carl Kammerling has supported over 22,500 apprentice electricians as part of its Bright Sparks initiative. It now provides 60 colleges and universities across the UK with a bursary and tools to use while training.
