After a turbulent month, Typhoon moves out of administration this week with founder Peter Battersby buying back the assets of the Typhoon International Group.
Mr Battersby, who sold the company in 2003 to focus on its American business, says his decision to return to the UK arm has been driven by the support of retailers, staff and suppliers, whom he thanked personally in a statement to the press.
The new director has brought in some new faces, as well as retaining many of those who helped to develop Typhoon since it started trading profitably in 1991.
Sales and marketing director, John Hayden will head up the sales team while Chris Stevens, whose career stretches 16 years as a senior buyer for several major housewares companies, is Typhoon's new managing director.
Mr Battersby says he is now free to put the company on a firm footing.
"The Typhoon brand has and will always be my focus," he adds. "I am confident that with a strong enthusiastic Typhoon team we can work closely with retailers to ensure that the Typhoon brand retains its position as a leader in creativity, commerciality and serviceability."
The new company will trade under its former title Typhoon Europe Limited, however the brand name and product collection will re-emerge as before.
The company will continue to operate from both the Chessington headquarters and Lincoln warehouse.
Typhoon went into administration on April 27 citing a breakdown in its relationship with chef Jamie Oliver's licensing operation, Fresh Retail Ventures as one of the reasons for collapse.
