Chichester Homebase to become latest Bunnings conversion

Published: 28 September 2017 - Kiran Grewal

The large Homebase store, which is located on the edge of Chichester, will close on November 6, as work commences to transform it into the latest Bunnings Warehouse.

The new-look Bunnings Warehouse on Discovery Park, Barnfield Drive, will open later this year.  Australian home improvement and garden store Bunnings bought Homebase for £340 million in February 2016.

It is set to replace every Homebase across the UK and Ireland over the next three to five years in a £500m investment.

A spokesman said the new store will employ an additional 39 full and part-time staff members and ‘continues the momentum of establishing the Bunnings Warehouse format across the UK’.

Yesterday Bunnings officially opened its Sittingbourne Warehouse store, the 7th outlet to open in the UK under Bunnings' roll-out scheme

Other Bunnings stores set open this year include Basildon VangeWeston-super-mareHarlow, Rotherham, Basingstoke, Rochdale, and now Chichester.
