Agency famous for Ikea campaign wins account for all advertising, sales promotion and consumer pr.
Clas Ohlson has handed its advertising brief to Karmarama, an agency that has worked with a diverse client list including Ikea, Amnesty International, the Conservative Party, and the English Table Tennis Association.
The Scandanavian retailer, which will open its first store in Croydon later this year, has charged Karmarama with advertising the Clas Ohlson brand in the UK, sales promotion and consumer PR.
The appointment will allow Clas Ohlson's director of marketing, Peter Jelkeby, to work with an agency he used when he was marketing manager at Ikea. Mr Jelkeby left the home products retailer in March this year and headed the drive to recruit an agency for Clas Ohlson.
Clas Ohlson sells a range of homeware, leisure, electrical and electronic goods. It has 90 stores in Scandinavia. Sales rose 9 per cent year-on-year in July to €440m.
