Swedish hardware retailer Clas Ohlson has announced a 13% sales rise in June. However, sales in Finland and the UK rose 40% from SEK 30m to SEK 42m thanks to new store openings.
Total sales for the month reached SEK 419m compared with SEK 371m for the same month last year. The total number of stores now stands at 108, with 20 added in the past 12 months including the first two UK stores in Croydon and Manchester.
And June's sales performance does not appear to be an isolated one as total sales for the first two months of the company's first quarter (may and June) saw sales rise by 13% to SEK 791m.
