Compulsory withdrawal for dangerous hammer

Published: 28 November 2012
A hammer has been compulsorily withdrawn from the market after it was found that parts can fly off when it is being used.
The Chinese-made Chetak Tools hammer has a wooden handle, but the hammer head is made from an unsuitable material, meaning that metal parts can detach and injure the person using the hammer or others nearby.

The product, which carries batch number/barcode 8 694461 118002, does not comply with the relevant European standard EN10083.
