The Steamer Trading cookshop chain has acquired up-market London cookshop Divertimenti.
Along with the store in London's Knightsbridge Steamer Trading takes on the Divertimenti Cookery School that operates within the store, the brand's online business and its distribution hub in Worcester. All 21 employees of Divertimenti will join Steamer Trading.
Steamer Trading managing director Ben Phillips said Divertimenti would retain its name and that the cookery school would expand its presence. Steamer Trading currently has 37 outlets across the UK, and a store launch planned for Truro in June will include a Divertimenti Cookery School.
"I am delighted to welcome Divertimenti into the Steamer Trading Cookshop family business," said Mr Phillips. "We intend to maintain Divertimenti's presence in Knightsbridge and to nurture this brand which has sold cookware in London for over 50 years."
