Covers Alresford creates hospice garden for the senses

Covers Timber & Builders Merchants in Alresford will be supporting Naomi House & Jacksplace by donating topsoil and compost to help the hospices grow sensory plants.
The plants have been added to the Jacksplace garden and aim to improve health, mood and cognition, as well as encourage the children it supports to spend time outside in the fresh air.
The Winchester based hospices provide expert care to more than 525 life-limited and life-threatened children, young adults and their families from across the south of the country.
Gemma Rolfe, Fundraising Assistant at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said “The children and young people we support benefit greatly from activities that work to enhance their senses, so a huge thank you to Covers for its donation and helping us to create a sensory planting area in our garden.”
Michael Sheath, Depot Manager at Covers Alresford, added “Naomi House & Jacksplace do fantastic work and we’re delighted to donate topsoil and compost. We hope the children, young people and families supported by the hospices enjoy the new plants.”
